The Second Week of Reading Summary

This week I read to page 31.

The part that I read this week starts of with Link arriving in London. He starts his journey by looking for a place to live. He finds some ads and decides to find a place to sleep. After some search, he finds a place where he can sleep for 50 pounds a week.

After that he makes his way to the Job Centre where he can find a job to pay the rent of his new home. However, the staff at the Job Centre tells Link that he needs his parents agreement if he is under 18 and looking for a job. Since Link's parents are pretty dumb, according to himself at least, he declares that he will come back to the Job Centre later.

Meanwhile, Shelter has found his first "recruit". The recruit is a homeless person and Shelter decides to trick the person into believing that there's beds and food for homeless persons at a place nearby.

Later that night, Shelter murders the person. However, Shelter proposes that what he has done is not murder, as he is helping England to get rid of all the homeless persons. He also explains how he has hidden the body under the floor, where there's very cold. Thanks to this, the body won't start smelling and Shelter can get away with the murder pretty easily.
